There are times when we all need a change of scenery and a chance to refresh our spirits. The Savor team did just that this past week. We have worked almost nonstop for the last three years to do the work we believe the Lord has called us to do. After a difficult summer, we were finally able to take a few days to enjoy God's beauty in Myrtle Beach, SC at the Holiday Inn Club Vacations Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Resort. It is a beautiful resort, and we were able to rest our minds and bodies, seek direction and inspiration from the Holy Spirit, and do some strategic planning. 

God put some wonderful women in our path who made our trip memorable. Julia really made me feel welcome when I checked in even though it was a very busy time. She was so gracious to stop what she was doing the next day to take her picture with us and to ensure we had everything we needed. We went to dinner later that evening and met Angel. She brought a big smile and an infectious spirit of fun to the table. They were both warm, welcoming, and seemed happy to be there to help us. It made me think about my own response to others. How do I make the women I encounter feel? Am I warm and welcoming to those visiting my local church, or do I even notice them? Do I seem happy to be there and to help them? 

We were eating lunch one afternoon, and looked up to see these two beautiful birds! The picture does not do them justice. They were so impressive. It astounds me to think that the same God who created the dry desert sands also created these colorful and striking creatures! 

Staci, Elizabeth, and I are so grateful the Lord gave us time to rest, reflect, and recharge. (And yes—we truly did get some work done!) Through prayer and seeking His guidance, we've made a few changes and moved forward with some exciting future plans.
