Can't Get No Satisfaction
What does satisfaction look like as a Christian Woman? What does it even mean to be satisfied? (Dictionary: Contented, Pleased; Biblical Definition: deep contentment and fulfillment found in a relationship with God, transcending earthly pleasures and possessions ) Winston Churchill famously said, âWhat would it take to be satisfied? Everything! Is my ordinary life enough? Right here, right now, as I am today, is it enough? Am I satisfied? How can we be satisfied with anything in a culture of constant comparison? (Social media woes, etc) How do we get to a place of joyful acceptance of our place/season we are in? Phil 4:11: Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned, in whatever situation I am, to be content. Have a content heart (Gratitude, Service to Others, Community) Trust in Godâs plan for your life (Dwelling in Godâs Word, Mentorship) Joy in the present (Finding beauty and purpose in the âagain-nessâ of everyday life) Freedom from comparison (Shift focus from others/what they have to all the unique gifts/talents, etc God has provided to YOU) Heb 13:5: Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, âI will never leave you nor forsake you.â Start from a place of obedienceâjoy and satisfaction follow Psalm 107:9: "For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things," Matthew 5:6 Hunger and thirst for righteousness
