Promises and Perseverance Psalm 119 Part Three

Season #5

When life gets bad, hard or unbearable, where do you turn?

Psalm 119:41-42 May Your Lovingkindness also come to me, O LORD. Your salvation according to Your word; So I will have an answer for him reproaches me, For I trust in Your word.

We often feel bad when blame gets cast on us by ourselves or others, The Psalmist feels this way but asks the Lord that His lovingkindness come to him

So when life got hard, He ran towards God’s lovingkindness

Where do you run for comfort in affliction?

The psalmist runs towards God’s Word

V.50

God’s Word can be our comfort

the Apostle Paul may be thinking about this when he wrote Romans 15:4 Scripture was written for our encouragement so that we might have hope

Do you feel hopeless?

Go to God’s Word, draw on the well of salvation Isaiah 12

Invite God into the pain and hurt and receive comfort from His Law

Isaiah 12:2-3 God is my salvation I will trust and not be afraid!

Once we go to God’s Word which is our comfort in our affliction,
